4. With reference to my despatch No.327 of the

29th ultimo, I have the honour to report that the Crown Solicitor informe me that Mr. Carpmael has performed efficiently and satisfactorily the duties of Official Receiver and Registrar

of Trade Marks.

I have not myself had as yet sufficient

experience of Mr. Carpmael's work to enable me to submit a

report on his capacity and qualities.
